Tripadvisor Review – May 2011

“ABSOLUTELY SUPERB FROM START TO FINISH”

Had a room on the 4th floor overlooking Liberation Sq and the Weighbridge and were fortunate enough to be there for the Liberation Day celebrations which were absolutely brilliant. Had a superb view of everything from our balcony. The choirs, bands, parades, liberation vehicles and vintage cars were all first class.

Our room was superb, large bedroom, bath and separate shower, two TVs (lounge and bathroom), large balcony with table and chairs, minibar, tea and coffee facilities (replenished twice per day), turn down service – everything you needed was there! We did not see/use the spa and pool as we were too busy exploring the island but other guest remarked on how good these were.

The hotel was exceptionally clean and the food in all three restaurants (Cabin, Sirocco and Zephyr) was first class. Lazy Jack was another bar with superb lounge area. Breakfast was served in the Sirocco and you could choose to eat in the restaurant or on the terrace – excellent, and with a wide range of food available. Chef always on hand to cook omlettes and fresh eggs.

The staff were extremely courteous and nothing was too much trouble.. The receptionist even smiled when we told her that we had spilt a full glass of red wine over the carpet! “Accidents happen” was her response.

We cannot think of anything negative to say about this hotel. My husband has travelled the world, staying in many different hotels and he said this is certainly the best he has stayed in with respect to cleanliness and service.

Like many other city hotels, the Royal Yacht does not have a car park, however, it is only a few minutes walk away (uphill).

ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tripadvisor Review – August 2011

“5/5 Truly 5****”

We had 2 rooms at the Yacht over August bank holiday weekend for my brothers wedding.

We had a ‘Platinum suite’ on the 4th floor, and a ‘silver double’ in the old part of the hotel. The high standards of the hotel are well documented and I agree with them all but what makes this place different are the special touches examples below;

Eating fresh oysters alfresco (under a heat lamp!) with a chilled bottle of Champagne, whilst your 4 year old sits with you tucking into a fresh and healthy ‘kids meal’ with a freshly juiced smoothy, whilst your teenagers sit up at the ‘trendy’ high bar eating Sushi, what an environment?!!! Oh and when you are too full to order the cheeseboard…. but really want it, the waitress carried it up to the suite for me, put it on the balcony and poured the wine 🙂

When we went to don our complimentary robes and slippers (to eat the cheese and drink the wine;) Our robes were still a little damp from our afternoon trip to the spa. I called housekeeping and within 5 minutes a member of staff knocked and delivered WARM robes.

My brother works in the hospitality industry and his expectations for his wedding were especially high. Judith Peebles the wedding co-ordinator didn’t just meet his demands but exceeded them? The whole event was truly stunning. How that woman manages to remain so calm when dealing with an event like this is beyond me, I would recommend her, and her staff in a heartbeat. The cheese and cigars on the balcony for the boys and the tea and cake (or champers) for the girls was just one highlight.

We have stayed in 5 star hotels around the world both for pleasure and business, and we have vowed to make The Yacht a ‘must do’ every year for a short break.

Oh, and if you are checking out TA for wedding venues……stop now, you’ve found it.”

Tripadvisor review – December 2015

“Fit for Royalty”

Overall I think this hotel is excellent and it would put many higher star hotels to shame.
It has friendly, sophisticated, adult environment, well trained, efficient and polite staff with everyone working as a team. The staff to customer ratio was high during our stay, which made the service very prompt. It was noted that management including the General Manager all pitched in to help on Christmas day. Everything appeared to be in excellent condition and worked. It’s central location made exploring the town on foot easy.
My partner and I had a platinum room on the fourth floor (402). The room was a very spacious and modern and had a generous balcony with table, chairs and a sun bed. It featured tea & coffee facilities replenished daily as is bottled water, easy to use room safe, free wifi, mini bar (not free of course), flat screen tv plus a DVD player. It was cleaned to a high standard and could only be improved upon by the addition of bedside drawers instead of a cupboard and the increase in a little more clothes storage. The bathroom was a generous size and had a separate shower stall with fixed head and flexible hose shower as well a bath with a built in tv above it, so you can watch films whilst relaxing in the bath. Bathrobes and slippers plus quality soaps were all included. Small improvements would be somewhere to put towels between uses and a hand hold to help you get out of the bath.

“First Class Hotel” – Tripadvisor review – Stayed February 2013

Excellent hotel. All staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Room was beautiful and serviced twice a day. We ate in all the restaurants and the food was lovely , hot and well presented. In the evening the bars were lively as was the night club, but going back to our room at midnight we found it quite, peaceful with no noise. There were some smaller more private bars for those wanting a quiet drink. Outside the hotel, being in a popular town was lively, but again we heard nothing of this in our room…
The location was excellent for exploring the town, or the beautiful island of Jersey.
Couldn’t fault this hotel in any way. Will certainly return.

“A holiday to remember” – TripAdvisor review – Stayed April 2013

This hotel surpassed all expectations in cleanliness, friendly staff and excellent food. The presentation of the food coupled with the high standard of cooking made dining in the Sirocco restaurant a pleasure. Breakfast was delicious with a very wide variety of good food on offer. We had reason to mention that there was a problem with one of the bathroom taps and this was dealt with promptly. Yes i would gladly return there.
