DJ SALLY K
Sally Kettle is originally from Leicester where 17 years ago she created her first mix on vinyl. At the age of 17 she bought her first turntables and became abedroom DJ. At the age of 19, Sally won the title of Miss England at the Trafalgar Hotel, London before heading to South Africa to compete in Miss World.
Her ambition in Miss World was to become a DJ.
“ I achieved a huge ambition in my life after competing in Miss World. I moved to London when I was 19 and met the Boilerhouse boys who gave me my first set dJing at Nells. This was where it all started….”
‘Sally K’ was born.
She went onto DJ at her own residencies at Metro, Leicester Square on a Thursday, Brownes on Friday and Salvador and Amanda/ El Gordo on a Saturday. Sally also played at the 52 Club, The Grill Rooms, Sketch, Harlem, The Supper Club and at Cannes Film Festival.
After giving up her Miss England title, she co-presented the BBC Liquid News withJenny Bond and was signed by UPS Artists, a radio management company, who thrust her into the limelight with her own radio show.
During this time she was spotted by Vodafone and became their European DJ. She played at the UEFA Champions League football finals, which were held in Athens, Moscow and Rome and she played the national Vodafone parties back to back with Judge Jules at the Birmingham NEC.
These days you will find Sally playing at Novikov on Wednesdays, London Fashion Week as she is one of the official DJ for Reiss as well as parties and functions for David Ross, Charles Dunstone and the Massive group.
